Postby stephen » Tue Feb 21, 2006 1:26 pm

How to enadle pdf attachments to be opened in clients using Exchange Server 2003.

User reported this error trying to send a PDF document.

The message is ready to be sent with the following file or link
attachments:

Shortcut to: ABLOY 2006 Price Book.pdf

Note: To protect against computer viruses, e-mail programs may prevent
sending or receiving certain types of file attachments. Check your
e-mail security settings to determine how attachments are handled.

Found solution in google groups

Figured it out. Have seen a lot of people with the same issue.

To fix:
Go to Exchange System Manager and select Global Settings->Internet Message
Formats->Properties->General->MIME Content Types

Add the following entry:
Type: application/pdf
Associated Extension: pdf

Replicate AD (if applicable) and wait up to 4 hours (depending on
environment, could take effect in minutes). The MIME translation fixes the
pdf download.
