Exchange user unable to send to external clients

Solved: an Exchange user sending emails to external email addresses, the message showed in her sent items but was not delivered to the external email address.

The fix was to make the user a member of the MyBusiness/Distribution Groups

Problem was occurring on Exchange Server 2003
