Myob must terminate unable to locate company file

Postby stephen » Thu Aug 07, 2008 6:09 pm

I have a client with Premier the latest version.

There is one PC in the office that gives the error "Myob must terminate unable to locate company file" when the PC is left idle, with Premier Open.

The Data File is on a Windows 2003 Server.
The Program is installed locally on the C: drive of the PC.
I have changed the network card.
Changed the port on the network switch.

Can you provide a fix for this problem.

Solution:
After Changing hardware connections etc none of which worked.

The solution was to uninstall the CISCO VPN Client. (The CISCO VPN Client was supplied as part of the Solution 6 Software to allow tax returns to be lodged to the ATO.)

For some reason the CISCO VPN Client causes the problem.

MYOB Responded with these stock generalised answers to setting up a peer to peer network, but is not a solution to the problem.

Thank you for contacting MYOB Customer Support regarding the termination issues your client is experiencing.

The error message you are getting seems to suggest that for some reason the program is losing contact with the company file itself. Sounds to me like it is more network related then MYOB itself. I would guess that it is to do with a timeout or drop out of the network connection itself. I have attached 2 support notes that should hopefully help discover a solution or explain the issue in greater detail.

If you have any further questions regarding this information or any other function of your MYOB software, please contact us quoting your product Serial Number.

Kind regards
