fedora core 10 beeps continuously

The Fedora Core 10 system on boot up gives a series of beeps.
We checked all the hardware and it is OK.
the problem is in the boot information on the boot drive
I can boot from the Install DVD and go into rescue mode and see the data on the boot disk in the /mnt/sysimage folder.
this fixed my problem

grub
Then in GRUB's command line:
root (hd0,0) - this tells GRUB that the boot partition is the first one on the first disk
setup (hd0) - this writes the boot sector on the first disk
quit - guess what this does
Then exit to reboot.
