task 'Microsoft Exchange Server' reported error (0x8004010F): 'The operation failed. An object cannot be found.'

I have a Exchange Server 2007 one of the clients is reporting that the Offline Address book is out of date. When they do a Send/Receive on the Offline Address book they get the above error.
Also some time the OAB never downloads the yask sits there but nothig happens o error just hangs.

Solution found is to select the Offline Address Book in the Exchange Management Console, Server Configuration
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/905813
Exchange Server 2007

1. In Exchange Management Console, expand Server Configuration, and then click Mailbox.
2. In the Database Management window, right-click Properties on the mailbox store.
3. Click the Client Settings tab, click Browse, and then click the appropriate offline address book.
4. Click OK two times.

This is a better solution for OAB Never Downloads for Outlook 2007 Clients with Exchange 2007 on Server 2008

Run this command to fix that issue and you’re halfway there. I ran across some blog that mentioned Rollup Update 7 may include this change by default.

Code: Select all
C:\Windows\system32\inetsrv\appcmd.exe set config /section:system.webServer/security/authentication/windowsAuthentication /useKernelMode:false

The fix is pretty easy. Open the web.config in the OAB folder, and give Authenticated Users both the read and read and execute permissions. Run a iisreset /noforce on the CAS server to bounce IIS.
