Unable to install AVG 9.0

I had to do a repair install of Windows XP after I changed the motherboard.
After the repair install I could not install AVG 9.0 It would just stop at Checking System Status and would not proceed.


The problem was caused because the repair install downgraded Internet Explorer to IE6 I had to download and install the IE7 program.
After IE7 was installed the installation of AVG 9.0 went without a hitch.
