Mouse stops working randomly

I have a Windows XP PC, the mouse will work fine for sometime then it just freezes. The optical light is still on but no response on the screen. I have tried removing and reinstalling drivers. I have tried different mice such as logitech and microsoft models and they all have the problem on this PC, the mice work fine on other PC's. I have also uninstalled Logitech setpoint and Microsoft Intellipoint 7.1 software to see if that helps.
I thin uninstalling the Logitech setpoint and Microsoft intellipoint software may have fixed the problem as the software might have been conflicting with each other.

When mouse is not working, try alt+tab few times. Not sure what the problem is but it activates the mouse again. FYI, I am using XP.
