New Laptop Dual Core 2.0 Ghz slow to get to Desktop
Posted: Thu Aug 17, 2006 9:30 amI have a new Dual Core Laptop 2.0Ghz, when it is turned on it takes 5 minutes for the start menu to show up when click on the start button you just have to wait while the cursor just shows the hour glass.
The laptop has wireless networking, and a button which can turn the wireless networking on or off.
When the wireless turned ON the startup time from when the desktop appeared was approx 30 seconds
When the wireless turned OFF the startup time from when the desktop appeared was approx 2.5 minutes
I have read some hints from here regarding system is dead slow
