I have a new HP 3000 desktop computer with Windows 7 Pro 32 bit installed. I installed Open Office, printer driver for a HP Photosmart, installed MYOB removed the pre-installed Office 2007.
After we installed Quickbooks and then uninstalled Quickbooks, The Windows 7 PC is unusable. After a reboot the PC starts up and we have a Please Wait message, There is no login screen just Please Wait,
In the first day of use the PC now fails to start up.

can anybody help me with this please.... I installed QuickBooks 2007 Premier, and all its updates,

and when i try to reboot Windows 7, I am unable to get back in the OS unless I go into safe mode and remove the installation of QuickBooks 2007 Premier does anybody have a solution for this I've tried this five times already.........

Windows 7 starts the boot process you get a Please Wait message on the screen and the CP does not progress any further
Therefore, you cannot log on to your Windows computer.
You can get into safe mode by pressing the F8 key at atartup

Go into Safe mode and select System Restore and restore the system to a time prior to the installation of the Quickbooks program.

In such a case download and apply Fix314380 from KB983551. ( This does not work as it will not install in safe mode)

This issue occurs because an auto-start service remains in the pending mode for too long and cannot start during the Windows startup process. This is caused by a deadlock that occurs because of an interaction between Windows Error Reporting (WER) and AppLocker.

So far, I've tried:

* Booting to Safe Mode and disabling all Services - doesn't work
* Downloading the password-protected KB fix from MS but you can't run this in Safe Mode!
* Rolling back to the last System Restore point
* Rebuilding from Recovery Partition
Always the same result and I can't pinpoint which update it is that breaks it. I'm now looking at potentially paying

Another solution to try is to boot to command prompt in safe mode and run the system file checker
sfc /scannow

This site says that if you boot into safe mode and then do a start restart that the PC will boot fine. If we can get the PC to boot fine then we should be able to install Microsofts hotfix for Windows 7.

I could not get the PC to start So I had to reformat and reinstall Windows. The PC has run fine for a week, Now they have just installed Quickbooks and uninstalled the Quickbooks and the PC now will not start again, Just sits at the Please Wait screen.

I think I will reinstall Windows XP next.
