Citrix: Metaframe presentation server connection interrupted

Citrix: Metaframe presentation server connection interrupted

Postby stephen » Tue Nov 28, 2006 7:21 am

This web site proposes

This problem is solved:
I deleted HardwareID from my register
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->Software->Microsoft->MSLicensing->HardwareID

Thanks. I will keep that for reference. I cleared mine by re-installing SP2, ICA client and turning off the WinXP SP2 firewall.

MetaFrame Presentation Server connection interrupted

Postby stephen » Mon Jan 15, 2007 7:44 pm

From this web site
http://www.carenewengland.org/documents/Accessing_CNErgy_Off_Campus_81406.pdf
I get the following error:
MetaFrame Presentation Server connection interrupted. Attempting to
reconnect…
This solution requires changes to the
registry.
Warning: Incorrectly editing the registry may severely damage your
system. At the very least, you should back up any valued data on the computer before making changes to the registry.
This function should only be used by advanced windows users.
Click the Start button and select Run.
In the open field type regedit. From the
Registry Editor window find the following
key. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\
SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSLicensing\
store. Delete any LICENSE### keys
within store. Restart your browser and
try accessing
again.

>Question # 1:
Make sure client have write access on the workstation to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\MSLicensing\Store

To force a TS cal to be replaced on the client, remove this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\MSLicensing\Store\LICENSE00x

Then logon again.

License issue?

This error can also occur if one of your Citrix servers is not installed in the same VLAN as you Terminal Services Licensing Server. Remember that there a 90 day grace period for terminal licensing and on the 91st day, you will be presented with the error you're experiencing. Terminal Licensing Server requested cannot cross VLAN/Subnet ranges, so verify that all your servers are in the same VLAN

I had this same problem and spent a while trying to troubleshoot. I had a mix of 2003 and 2000 servers in my XP 1.0 farm and suddently could not connect to any 2000 servers.

I was getting the loop of interrupted connections no matter what version of client I was using.

Eventually through this forum I was led to look at TS licensing and sure enough I went to my two TS licensing servers and found that the server had "expired".

To reactivate the licensing server just right click the server name in TS licensing, Advances, Reactivate server.

This worked for me straight away and I am now able to connect to all servers.
